Nice and juicy fruit that you need to test

Have you ever tested this fruit? If you haven’t then you need to give it a test….
The name of this fruit is still unknown in English, I tried my best to find it’s English name but I failed… I only found the Acholi and alulu people call it “OTUGU” OK…what is this fruit all about and why am I recommending it for others to have a test of it?

History of this fruit otugu…
This fruit Otugu as called in acholi and alulu people, it mostly found in dry areas, for it, whether there is water or not, it grows well…
According to some research I made, I asked a mucholi about the growth of that fruit…”OTUGU”
He told me that
“OTUGU is a nice fruit, it mostly grow on it’s own but also if you wish like planting it can be planted…
This OTUGU tree takes almost 5 years to start putting on fruits, but when it’s still young, it has a middle root which wants to resemble cassava but only that it’s some how hard and taller than cassava, that root can be cooked the way you cook cassava but for it, you at least need to cook it for 2-3 hours…
The root is sweet and has a nice test when it’s cooked but it is hard….”

The tree takes 5 years to grow and when it grows, it puts on fruits once in a year….by the way this fruit is said to be one our long people used as year starter and ender indicator,,,,it’s because this fruit gets ready to be eaten in every January only…. and moreover on the first day of the year….

This fruit “OTUGU” has a hard yellow cover(peel) from it’s first stage up to it’s last stage…
This OTUGU fruit has four (4) seeds inside it.

Steps to make that OTUGU fruit ready for eating…
First, what you should know about this fruit is that, for it you can not get it like mango and start eating immediately, here are steps:
1. You should wait it until it fails down from tree on it’s own.
2. After it failing down, you pick it and then keep it inside the house for 3-5 days…
3. After 3-5 days storage, you now get it,,, now go where there is a big stone and start banging it on the stone until it becomes soft and also until it starts to bring yellow juice….
4. Now use your hands to tire it, peel that cover off and start sacking that juice from it…and when peeling it, make sure that you peel it starting from button to top….

This fruit is yellow in colour and even juice is also yellow in colour…
You don’t need sugar, or anything to add in, the fruit is sweet, only that it’s like eating mango…you will 100% remain with “wuzes” of it in the mouth and will make you to brush your teeth again….

I myself I have tested this fruit and weo it was so nice and juicy for me, only that it has many processes that taken on it before eaten, such as:
It should only fail down on it’s own, then you should keep it in house 3-5 days, and you need to bang-bang it on stone before eating….
